About this piece

Amahoro is Kinyarwanda for peace, and this kneeling figure carries it as a weight rather than an absence of noise. Against a dark, unlit ground, white cloth and a few touches of gold hold the eye, while turquoise gathers at her feet like water coming to rest. Gold leaf is worked into the textured surface so that the stillness shimmers rather than sleeps.
